What: Saint Demetrios Greek Festival

When: September 22nd-September 25th
It’s all Greek to me, especially at the Saint Demetrios 43rd Annual Greek Festival! Immerse yourself in amazing Greek culture and tradition this weekend at the Saint Demetrios Church right here in Baltimore. With great food, music, and dancing this festival has all the grounds covered to help you fall in love with Greece. Enjoy traditional Greek food, learn some traditional Greek folk dances, and shop around for some custom Greek jewelry. On top of having all these great events everyday, on Thursday there will be a “Greeks got Talent Show,” and on Sunday there will be a dance presented by Demetrakia Dance Troupe.
The festival will be open every day between Thursday and Sunday this week, with different hours depending on the day. You can find those hours on the flyer attached or here. There will also be free parking and free admission to this event. By the end of your time at the festival, you’ll be smashing plates because of all the fun you had learning Greek culture!

Where: Baltimore Humane Society
When: Saturday, September 17th
Let’s be real: everyone loves dogs. If you don’t you’re either lying or allergic to them. Well, if you are allergic, then this event might not be for you since The Baltimore Humane Society will be overflowing with dogs on Saturday the 17th from 10am-4om. For everyone else though, tickets will be $15 at the door, which includes a free ticket to Magooby’s Joke House. This event has something for everyone (and every animal) with games, contests, crafts, and food. Enter your dog into a best costume contest, take him bowling, train him, and watch some cool demos together. OR, if you’re like me, check out some great vendors, raise some money for the Humane Society, pet every single dog, and try your hardest not to adopt all the animals. No matter what you plan is, you should definitely show up and support your local puppies.

What: Baltimore Ghost Tours
Where: Fells Point
When: Tour Schedule
I was leaning towards something a little scarier this Wednesday and I figured since it is April scary is wacky… Therefore your Wacky Wednesday is Baltimore Ghost Tours hosted throughout historic Fells Point… If it is historic there must be ghosts.
Whether or not you believe in ghosts there is no way this tour will not spook you out–just thinking about it gives me a chill. Enjoy a Fells point historical pub ghost walk, or head over to Mount Washington neighborhood to check out all of the spirits that keep a residence there. Baltimore ghost tours has been around for 15 years so they are well versed in all of the spirits that loved Bmore too much to leave. Not freaked out yet? Then I suggest you go on a ghost tour!
Click here to see the full schedule and all of the ghosts… I mean stops… you will be seeing.

Take a chance on your Wacky Wednesday to explore one of literature’s famous, Edgar Allan Poe. Edgar Allan Poe, composed spooky and odd novels, short stories and poems leaving him a peculiar legacy, but fortunately, we had the chance of this brilliant author living in Balty. Due to this we have been giving many cool spots to visit that Poe left his mark on. Check out No.203 North Amity Street to visit Poe’s house or head to No.11 East Mulberry Street to visit the place where Poe won a prize! Unfortunately, some places have been demolished but that does not diminish the history of Edgar Allen Poe in Baltimore.
